Charles Collins, President, CFM
Mr. Collins is the founder and President of Optimum Performance Group (OPG). Prior to beginning OPG, Mr. Collins was Vice President & General Manager, of William A. Berry & Son, Inc., Facility Management Services division from 1997 to 2003 where he had total responsibility for the division’s management and performance including Sales, Operations, Strategic and Financial Planning. During his tenure the division saw growth in excess of 300% in five years. His responsibilities included over 330 buildings with line responsibility for over 600 employees.

Previously, from 1989 to 1997 Mr. Collins was Director of Operations, Landis & Staefa Inc., where he had full P&L responsibility for all Facility Management in the U. S. and Canada. Additionally, he has held several senior operations, systems and sales positions with United HealthServ/Marriott Management Services.

In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors for OPG, Mr. Collins is currently an outside Board Member of Pegasus Internet Group, CycleAd.com and is on the advisory board of
KDS Marketing, Inc.


Nicholas Valls, BSME, LEEDTM AP
Nick’s background includes 15+ years of Facility Operations/Management, Engineering, Technical Support and Project Management experience. He started his career as a Project Engineer with Pratt & Whitney. He then provided sales and technical support for Nalco Chemical. Nick’s career then moved to facility performance contracts with Siemens Building Technology. For the period 1997 through 2003, Nick held several key roles with William A. Berry & Son, Inc. including Director of Facilities at a hospital and Regional Support Manager serving major higher education facilities in the Boston area.

Nick joined Optimum Performance Group to provide services including CMMS implementation, deferred maintenance planning and capital project management. As a LEEDTM certified engineer, he is also highly skilled in the sustainable building area, having recently completed studies for Harvard and MIT.


Kenneth Koblitz, BSEE, CEM
Ken’s extensive experience includes 25+ years facility operations and project management. Ken began his career developing and implementing computerized maintenance management programs for a leading provider of FM services. His career then progressed to where he was Director of Engineering for a regional hospital. Ken then moved on to focus on utilities and facility operations in the private sector. He spent 15 years managing the plant operations for Ford Electronics/Visteon where his was able to deliver multi-million dollar utility and operational savings.

Ken’s role with OPG is focused in utility assessment and rate structure review, utility procurement support and utility savings project design, management and performance measurement.


William Kleis, BS Accounting
Bill brings broad operations and business experience to OPG. Bill spent 24 years in operations management with Home and Roam, Inc. and Artesian, Inc. He held executive level positions responsible for day-to-day facility operations, design and manufacturing and field services. As Vice President, Bill was credited with developing industry leading products and services. He specializes in improving processes and driving cost out of product and service expenditures.

Bill’s role with OPG is to support our client’s in redesigning facility operations processes, identification of cost improvement strategies and implementing innovative service solutions with a focus on business results.
